MoneyMates Workshops
We run facilitated, peer led, group discussion groups called MoneyMates. The sessions focus on facilitated, peer led group discussion, the aim of the workshops are to give you the tools and confidence to talk about money and money matters, learning from other people’s experience.
In the course we cover a range of topics, including:
- Money – money personalities and how we relate to money
- Identifying needs and wants
- Goal setting, planning for change and behaviour change
- Keeping track of money and budgeting
- Debt – what is it? Understanding the costs (financial and emotional of debt), paying it off and managing it in the long term
- Borrowing sensibly
- Saving – how to save, compound interest, Kiwi Saver
Participants who complete the required number of sessions will receive a certificate of achievement. We can also pick up 1:1 sessions with you at any point if you wish to discuss your own personal circumstances in more detail.
We also run and facilitate MoneyMates workshops for community groups or in workplaces, as well as online workshops. Please get in touch if this is something you would like to know more about for your organisation.
Community Education Presentations
We offer group education sessions to community organisations for their clients, on a variety of topics that we can tailor to suit the interest of the audience. They are delivered by our trained Financial Mentors. All clients that attend the group sessions will be able to access free 1:1 mentoring with our service as follow up, to discuss their individual circumstances in more detail should they wish to.
